Beating the odds, Latino twins make it to Harvard and Westpoint
Twin brothers Arnulfo (left) and Jesus Moran will graduate from an inner city high school that has a 60 percent drop-out rate.
Four years of hard work and discipline have paid off for two Latino twins who will graduate from a pubic high school in Los Angeles this June. Arnulfo Moran got accepted to West Point, while his brother, Jesus, is going to Harvard.
It’s an impressive feat for any family. But for Jesus and Arnulfo Moran, whose school has a 60 percent drop out rate and is located in one of the city’s poorest neighborhoods, the achievement was unprecedented, and it was hailed as an inspiration for classmates and others trying to beat the odds.
